Learn how birth affects the rest of your life and how to recognize and release repeating patterns of behaviour that can make you feel stuck and unable to reach your full potential. This workshop is for anyone wishing to access the deeper levels of their being to remove blockages and free up creative energy.  We invite you to journey with us in a safe and non-judgemental space to free yourself from limitations.

Welcome to the Cairns group of Bellies, Birth and Babes! We are meeting once a month in Cairns to chat informally about pregnancy, birth and natural parenting. Share & learn in a supportive, non-judgemental environment with other women who have first-hand & varied experiences of birth and parenting in our region.

We meet on the Esplanade, near the Pirate Ship playground. So why not bring a blanket/chair. If you have time, feel free to bring a healthy plate to share.

Mums To be Meditation ~ with Michelle 

Meditation during pregnancy can help to get both body and mind into a deep state of relaxation, which is so beneficial to both mother and baby.
Pregnancy and Childbirth meditation reduces the need for medical interventions during labour and increases oxygen supply to mother and baby using guided breathing techniques during pregnancy, which can also be used during labour and delivery. It also directly reduces the risks for pre-eclampsia (hypertension in pregnancy) and pre-term labour by lowering blood pressure, heart rate and pulse. It can also bring about a more relaxing, drug and pain free labour if practised regularly.  Pregnancy meditation will also help you connect with your baby on a deeper level in the womb.

Group classes and one-on-one sessions are available
Time: Wednesdays - 4.00pm-5.00pm
Cost: $15 casual class or $75 for 6 week pass. First class is free.

In addition to the physical benefits of prenatal yoga, these classes are designed to offer you an opportunity for inward reflection,  a chance to connect with other pregnant women and ultimately prepare you for the birth on a holistic level.
Each class has a different theme with postures designed to nurture and strengthen, while relieving some of the discomfort of pregnancy. The classes include pranayama (breathing techniques), meditations to still your mind, relaxation techniques and birthing mantras.  All postures are introduced as new and the more advanced students are instructed into the extended version of the pose.  So we are all working to our own level, but together in the one class.
